For the past 7 weeks I've been recovering from a broken elbow. Since elbow injuries are complex, my whole right arm has been in a hard cast for the past 4 weeks. I'm getting it taken off in 4 days. Can't wait to be normal again and get healthy!
I'm going to be detoxing pretty hard for at least a few weeks now that I'm off pain killers. Going to bring back my spinach, carrot, apple, pear, orange juice and try to work out as much as my body allows as my bone gets stronger.
Don't take your body parts for granted!

November has been a big month for me. Tomorrow is the last day until December, so a reflection on the past several weeks is in order. However, I'm not going to reflect on it now because I have a few loose-ends to tie up until I can feel relaxed enough for a proper retrospective. If you are Facebook friends with me, then the photo album titled "NYC/Brooklyn" is a pretty good visual diary of my past month, but it does not paint the complete picture.
I will let this out now though - I'm moving to San Francisco next week. I am excited about getting back there and getting into a new routine on the West Coast. Also very excited to be meeting loads of new people and growing my network more. After all, business is all about the people you know!

today i got myself a haircut, a kettlebell, swam for 30 minutes, and also got a bag of composting worms. i tried the kettlebell workout yesterday and afterwards felt that i needed a heavier kettlebell, so i returned it today and upsized it. i also got two new pieces of equipment for my adventure crate on the cheap (bike light for under $4 and inflateable sleeping pad for under $9 from REI garage sale). full write-up on my adventure crate coming very soon.

today i constructed a worm bin so i can do vermicular composting. i had a good amount of organic scraps from all my juicing, so i've decided to make use of it and also practice my urban gardening skills. i suppose it will take 3-4 months for the compost to be ready, but this spring should make for good experiments.

this week my goals are:
- start a compost bin
- pack my adventure crate
- learn arduino
- learn processing.org

i went to the gym tonight knowing that i wanted to try something new to mix it up. i knew that i wanted to do rock climbing, so i did that for 15 minutes until that closed. i scaled the wall about 4 and a half times in about 10 minutes.
then i practiced basketball, which was the first time in YEARS. practiced layups and various shots and ran a bunch to get the cardio workout.
then i went swimming. in the cold indoor pool, pretty hard for just over 10 minutes.
overall, pretty good workout.
then i went and got some hummus at the store. the end.

tonight i stopped by Whole Foods on the way home from work and got the following:
- 2 pears
- 3 apples
- spinach
- slice of oatmeal cake with coconut topping
i put everything but the cake in a juicer along with some cilantro, tomato, and kale i had from yesterday. it was a delicious juice. i then had some cake.

i've made a decision to buy organic produce after juicing for 2 months and eventually tasting the pesticides that were gross. my current goal is to go to whole foods every other day so that i eat fresh.
as an experiment, i've spent the last two months juicing and drinking pea/rice protein supplement for ~2/3 of my meals. it has given me great energy!
go organic!
